Initial visit, your chiropractic consultation will include an intake & health history. The chiropractor will ask about:
• Your main complaint (pain, stiffness, headaches, posture issues, etc.)
• Onset (when it started, how it happened)
• Severity & pattern (what makes it better or worse)
• Past injuries, surgeries, or accidents
• Medical conditions, medications, and family history
• Lifestyle factors (work posture, stress, sleep, exercise)
You will have completed a written questionnaire before this stage which is important, this tailors your consultation specifically to your health needs providing best treatment outcomes.
This will include:
• Postural assessment (standing, sitting, walking)
• Range of motion tests
• Orthopaedic tests (to assess joints, ligaments, muscles, discs)
• Neurological tests (to assess you nervous system; reflexes, sensation, muscle strength and balance co-ordination if required)
• Palpation (feeling the spine and surrounding muscles)
The goal is to identify joint dysfunction, muscle imbalance, nerve involvement, or instability.
Additional Tests (if needed)
Depending on your case, the chiropractor may refer out for imaging:
• Review X-rays / Ultrasound / MRI Scans
• Refer you to another healthcare provider if red flags appear

Report of Findings (Follow-Up Visit)
This visit is about explaining results and the care plan, not just treatment.
A explanation of findings will be given by the chiropractor and they will explain:
• What’s wrong (diagnosis or working diagnosis)
• Which structures are involved (joints, discs, nerves, muscles)
• Why you’re having symptoms
• Whether the issue is acute, chronic, or degenerative
They will use the following to show and tell using:
• Spine models
• Simple diagrams
You will be advised a recommended treatment plan based on your history and exam findings from your initial consultation.
• Type of care (spinal adjustments, soft tissue work, mobilisation other modalities)
• Frequency of care
• Duration of care
• Home care (ice vs heat, stretches, exercises, posture advice, supports)
• Lifestyle changes (ergonomics, activity modification)
You will be explained why this plan is recommended.

Your Chiropractors will discuss:
• Expected benefits
• Possible side effects or risks with your case
You will have a chance at the end of the report of findings to ask questions and give informed consent to start your chiropractic course of care.
Your chiropractor will:
• Perform your first adjustment at the second visit
• Give you home care advise to aid your healing
